Sinulog Grand Mardi Gras

Go travel to Philippines and experience the colorful  Sinulog Festival Grand Mardi Gras. Celebrated every third Sunday of January in the Cebu City, Philippines. To commemorate the conversion of natives of Cebu from pagans to Roman Catholic by the time Ferdinand Magellan arrived in Cebu on April 7, 1521. The festival honors the Santo Niño as the patron saint of the "Queen City of The South".






Sinulog festival grand mardi gras features street dancing of many contingents coming from different municipalities and cities of Cebu, from its neighboring islands and other part of the country as well.  The traditional ritual dance forward( two steps)  and backward (one step) movements is accompanied by drum beats and trumpets.





Sinulog festival is now considered as a tourist destination in Philippines. You can dance together with the contingents and have your videos and pictures taken. From sunrise to sunset and from dusk till dawn, celebrate the party in the streets with "one dance, one beat".
